Common questions

Pro didn’t unlock after I paid

Open the app’s Settings tab and tap Restore Purchases. If it still doesn’t unlock:

  1. Confirm you used the same Apple ID for the purchase as you’re signed into now (Settings → [your name] on iOS).
  2. Sign out of the App Store (Settings → [your name] → Media & Purchases → Sign Out) and back in.
  3. Tap Restore Purchases again.

If it still won’t unlock, file an issue with your purchase receipt.

Can I get a refund?

Apple is the merchant of record for GRE Beast Pro purchases, so refund requests have to go through Apple — not us. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com, select GRE Beast, and choose “Request a refund.”

Is my study data backed up?

Your vocabulary progress, saved words, streak, and session history are stored locally on your device using Apple’s SwiftData framework. If you have iCloud Backup enabled in iOS Settings, they’re automatically included in your device backup. The app does not sync to a third-party server.

If you reset progress (Settings → Reset all progress), the data is permanently deleted from the device — there’s no undo.

Does GRE Beast track me?

No. The app contains no analytics SDKs, no advertising frameworks, no tracking pixels, and no third-party SDKs. After installation, it makes no network requests to our servers (we don’t have any).

Why is my session shorter than I selected?

If you’ve enabled a long review cooldown (Pro-only setting) and most of your review words are still on cooldown, GRE Beast will deliver an honestly shorter session rather than violating the spacing rule. This is intentional — the cooldown protects against grinding the same words.

How does the algorithm decide which words to show?

Each session pulls 70% from a “new” pool (never-seen words, then unmastered words by least-recently-seen) and 30% from a “review” pool (words you’ve missed, ordered by mistakeCount × secondsSinceLastSeen). A word leaves the review pool only when it reaches mastery — three consecutive correct answers with no mistake in the past 14 days.
