Privacy Policy — GRE Beast

Last updated: 2026-05-09

GRE Beast is a vocabulary practice app for iOS. This policy explains what data the app handles and what it doesn’t.

What we collect

Nothing. GRE Beast does not collect, transmit, store, or share any personal data on a server. The app has no backend.

All study data — your vocabulary progress, streak, saved words, session history, settings — is stored locally on your device using Apple’s SwiftData framework. It never leaves your device unless you explicitly back up your iPhone (in which case Apple handles the encryption).

The in-app purchase

GRE Beast offers a one-time GRE Beast Pro unlock through Apple’s App Store. The purchase is processed entirely by Apple — we never see your name, email, payment method, or any other personal information.

When you make the purchase, the app verifies the transaction with Apple’s StoreKit framework. The app stores only a local flag indicating that Pro is unlocked.

Network access

After installation, the app makes no network requests to our servers (we don’t have any). The only network activity is:

Analytics, tracking, advertising

None. GRE Beast contains no analytics SDKs, no advertising frameworks, no tracking pixels, no third-party SDKs of any kind beyond Apple’s own frameworks.

Children

GRE Beast is rated 4+ and contains no objectionable content. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone, including children — see “What we collect” above (we collect nothing).

EU users (DSA / GDPR)

Because GRE Beast collects no personal data, the GDPR data-subject rights (access, deletion, portability, etc.) are inherently satisfied — there is no data to access, delete, or port.

For App Store transactions, Apple is the merchant of record and handles consumer-protection obligations including the right to withdraw within 14 days of purchase. Refund requests should be directed to Apple via reportaproblem.apple.com.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the “Last updated” date at the top will change and the new version will be published here before any change in app behavior. Material changes will also be reflected in a new app release with notes in the App Store “What’s New” section.
